Swisher Telephone Company proudly provides reliable local phone service that includes unlimited local dialing and toll-free dialing (EAS) to Cedar Rapids, Ely and Fairfax prefixes.

Local Access Rate:
A monthly charge for the line that permanently connects your home or business with our local switching office.

Subscriber Line Charge (SLC):

A monthly charge which allows the local telephone company to recover

a portion of its costs to install and maintain telephone lines and facilities.

This charge is regulated and capped by the FCC.

911 Surcharge:

A monthly charge imposed by local governments to help pay for emergency services such as fire and rescue.

Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC):

This charge may change quarterly; currently the rate is 11.4% of the SLC charge on your phone line and all DSL charges. This charge recovers the amount STC contributes to the Federal Universal Service Fund. This fund helps keep local phone rates affordable for all Americans.

(EAS) stands for "Extended Area Service". This service allows you to call surrounding communities without being charged long distance.
